Hope that Yerevan will take this into account when shaping foreign policy: Kremlin spokesperson
Armenia is benefiting from its membership in the EAEU, and there is hope that Yerevan will take this into account when shaping its foreign policy. This was stated by Dmitry Peskov, the press secretary of the President of Russia. The information was reported by RIA Novosti.
Peskov drew attention to the fact that cooperation between Russia and Armenia is mutually advantageous. He also noted that "in the post-Soviet space, Armenia is developing at a much faster pace; its GDP growth exceeded 15 percent over the past year."
"This is partly due to our country’s very close mutually beneficial cooperation and Armenia's membership in the EAEU, that is unequivocal. The figures show this. Trade turnover is increasing, benefits are rising, transportation services, simply services, and the financial sector are all growing. Armenia is benefiting from this, meaning the Armenian people are gaining from it," Peskov stated.
The Russian presidential press secretary expressed confidence that "the Armenian leadership will take all of this into account when making decisions regarding foreign policy." "This is, of course, a sovereign decision. We are against dictating anything to anyone. We advocate for earning money together, for becoming happier and richer together. And we are confident that our friendly Armenians also understand this," he emphasized.
