US Imposes Sanctions on Russian Aerospace Forces and Wagner Group
The US State Department has added the Russian Aerospace Forces, the private military company Wagner, St. Petersburg's "Элтехнорд" company, as well as Russian national Pavel Shevelin and North Korean citizen Rim Yong Hyok to its list of sanctions concerning nuclear non-proliferation.
The corresponding order has appeared on the website of the Federal Register of the United States. According to the document, the sanctions also extend to the "successors, subdivisions, and branches" of the companies and individuals listed.
The restrictions have been imposed due to alleged violations of the country's legislation regarding non-proliferation of weapons of mass destruction, including nuclear weapons associated with Iran, North Korea, and Syria.
The US State Department prohibits entering into any agreements with sanctioned individuals and organizations, providing them assistance, selling and exporting weapons and military technologies, and granting US licenses for the purchase of goods under export control.
