Trump Responds to Haley's Victory in Primaries
Former U.N. Ambassador Nikki Haley has won a primary election for the first time in the current electoral cycle among U.S. Republicans. Haley's victory in the D.C. metropolitan area is predicted by leading American media outlets, including the Associated Press, The Washington Post, The New York Times, ABC, and CNN, based on the processing of approximately 99% of the ballots. According to their estimates, Haley receives around 63% of the district's primary votes, while her opponent, former U.S. President Donald Trump, garners about 33%.
Following Nikki Haley's victory, former President Donald Trump referred to the District of Columbia as a "swamp." “I deliberately stayed away from voting in DC, as it’s a swamp with very few delegates that provides no advantage,” Trump wrote on his Truth Social platform.
