Pope Francis Speaks about the Displaced Persons from Artsakh
Pope Francis has offered prayers for the Armenian people and those displaced from Artsakh. This was reported by the Armenian Embassy in the Holy See.
Today, Pope Francis met with members of the Synod of the Armenian Catholic Church, led by His Beatitude Rafael Petros XXI Minassian, the Catholicos-Patriarch of Cilicia.
The Pope expressed his joy for the meeting, which follows the feast day of St. Grigor Narekatsi. “How could we not remember—in words or in prayers—Armenia, especially those who have fled from Artsakh, the many families seeking refuge?” said Pope Francis.
He also addressed the ongoing wars and conflicts around the world, calling them always tragic and absurd. “How often I have begged: ‘Enough!’ Let us respond together to the cry for peace so that it touches everyone’s heart… And above all, let us pray,” said the Pope. He noted that he will pray for Armenia.
