Israel to Halt Military Operations During Ramadan, Biden
The Israeli government has decided to temporarily suspend military operations during the holy month of Ramadan for Muslims, in order to release hostages held by the Palestinian Hamas militant group. This was announced by U.S. President Joe Biden.
“First and foremost, the hostages must be released. The Israelis have agreed not to engage in any actions during Ramadan to allow for the release of all hostages. I believe that if we reach a temporary ceasefire, we can move towards changing the dynamics,” said the U.S. leader.
Previously, Biden expressed hope that an agreement on a ceasefire in the Gaza Strip would be reached by March 4.
