Mirzoyan and ICRC President Discuss Return of Persons Held in Azerbaijan
On February 26, in Geneva, Armenian Foreign Minister Ararat Mirzoyan met with President of the International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC) Mirjana Spoljaric Egger. This was reported by the Armenian Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
The discussions focused on the needs and rights of individuals forcibly displaced due to Azerbaijan's military attack in September of last year and the subsequent ethnic cleansing in Nagorno-Karabakh, as well as the framework for humanitarian cooperation with the ICRC.
Minister Mirzoyan specifically emphasized the importance of the return of persons held in Azerbaijan, as well as clarifying the fates of missing and forcibly disappeared individuals, reaffirming the Armenian side's publicly declared readiness to cooperate on this issue.
During the meeting, the ongoing security situation in the South Caucasus was also addressed, along with Armenia's efforts to establish peace and stability in the region.
