Hungary's Parliament Approves Sweden's NATO Membership Application
Hungary's Parliament has approved Sweden's application to join NATO. This was announced during a meeting broadcast on the website of Hungary's highest legislative body.
"The decision has been made," explained the meeting's chair after the majority of lawmakers supported the country’s accession to the North Atlantic Alliance. According to the voting results, 188 parliamentarians voted in favor of Sweden’s NATO membership, while six voted against.
At the same time, Hungary has become the last country in the North Atlantic Alliance to approve Sweden's application.
