Netanyahu to Present Operations Plan in Rafah
Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu has stated that in the coming days he will present an operations plan for Rafah, located in the southern Gaza Strip, to the government—this includes the evacuation of the population.
According to a report by Al Jazeera, at least 600,000 children are currently residing in tent camps in the Palestinian city of Rafah in the southern Gaza Strip, with limited access to food and medicine. This information was relayed by an anonymous representative from the UN Children's Fund (UNICEF).
“600,000 children are now living in Rafah camps without food and medicine and in extremely dangerous conditions,” the report quotes the representative. The UNICEF spokesperson also expressed concern that “Gaza's children could die if an immediate ceasefire is not established and humanitarian aid is not provided to the enclave,” emphasizing that they are “the most vulnerable link in this war.” They pointed out that there are currently “no safe areas in Gaza” and called for an immediate ceasefire.
