Garik Galeian Transferred to Hospital
Garik Galeian, the father of Mkhihtar Galeian who was killed in the Artsakh 44-day war, has been transferred to the Astghik Medical Center with a preliminary diagnosis of 'heart attack.' This information was reported by the public organization 'Call of Sons.'
'Garik Galeian's health condition sharply deteriorated after the extension of his detention and the prohibition on visiting Yerablur. He is currently in the intensive care unit,' the statement said.
According to the NGO, Galeian's health status is so severe that surgical intervention is currently not possible.
It is noteworthy that on September 8, 2023, it was reported that Galeian had been arrested. Later, the Investigative Committee announced that three packages of marijuana were found in his possession. On September 9, the Yerevan Court of General Jurisdiction accepted the investigator's motion, and a two-month pre-trial detention was selected for Galeian.
Afterward, his lawyer reported that Galeian's health had sharply worsened and he was transferred to the hospital. However, despite this, the Court of Appeal rejected his lawyers' request to change the measure of restraint on October 9. Later, his measure of restraint was changed to home confinement, which the court extended for another two months on February 21.
