Trump's Latest Statements Raise Concerns in Europe
Donald Trump's recent statements during the U.S. presidential campaign have shocked many in Europe and raised concerns among European political figures. This is reported by the Washington Post.
“Trump's critical comments about NATO are unsettling allies and stoking fears among Europeans,” the publication notes.
Some EU politicians have said that the former White House chief's rhetoric poses a threat to the continent's security and warned that this serves as yet another reminder of the need to rely less on Washington.
It is worth recalling that earlier, over the past weekend, Donald Trump stated at one of his campaign rallies that he would not defend NATO member countries, and furthermore, he would encourage Russia to attack them if they fail to meet their financial obligations to the alliance.
