Tension in Vardenis as Residents Block Main Road

Currently, there is a tense situation in Vardenis. Residents of Vardenis and neighboring villages have blocked the main road leading into the city. The residents are conducting a protest in support of the passport office, reports Hraparak.

“The authorities have decided to close the Vardenis passport and visa office, thereby complicating the normal life of residents in this border area even further. It is noteworthy that the mayor of Vardenis, Aharon Khachatryan, is also participating in the protest,” the website states.

Institutions located in Vardenis, including the Vardenis polyclinic, have been conducting a prolonged signature campaign to support the passport office. A large number of signatures have been collected, which are set to be submitted to the regional government, and the residents are expecting a response that meets their demands.
