Accusations Against Russia Are Absurd, Says Zakharova
The latest attempts to accuse Russia of interfering in the democratic processes of the European Union are absurd. This statement was made by Maria Zakharova, the official representative of the Russian Foreign Ministry. The information was reported by gazeta.ru.
She commented on the anti-Russian resolution adopted by the European Parliament on February 8, which accused Russia of interfering in "democratic processes" within the EU.
"As for the attempts to accuse Russia, they are absurd by definition," the diplomat noted.
Zakharova drew attention to the absence of "democratic norms and ideals" in the EU. According to her, European politicians have violated the principles of protecting the rights of ordinary people, upholding the rule of law, and combating various forms of abuse.
The diplomat emphasized that Europe currently supports neo-Nazism and deliberately ignores the humiliating conditions of national minorities.
Earlier, Zakharova stated that German Chancellor Olaf Scholz had "not caved to the U.S. command" and had watched the interview of Russian President Vladimir Putin with American journalist Tucker Carlson.
