We Thought That If We Did All This, They Would Call Us Traitors; We Didn’t Do It, Yet They Still Called Us Traitors: Pashinyan
We thought that if we said and did all of this, they would call us traitors, betrayers, criminals. We didn't do all of this, yet they still called us traitors, betrayers, criminals.
This was stated by Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan at the initiative meeting of the Civil Contract Party in the Aragatsotn region.
“We should have told the people that the path to peace goes through this way, this way, this way. We haven't said it for two reasons. First, because we ourselves did not consider that path reliable, or we were unable to reconcile ourselves with it. Secondly, maybe we also had that fear; let's admit it. Perhaps that fear was subconscious. We thought that if we said and did all of this, they would call us traitors, betrayers, criminals. We didn't do all of this, yet they still called us traitors, betrayers, criminals.
I know that we, and I personally, know very well the desires, dreams, and impulses of our people. And I feel obligated to lead our people out of this complex situation through the minefield with minimal loss. I feel obligated to bring our small boat, which is sinking in stormy waters, safely to the shore. Not talking about this today would be a crime,” said Pashinyan.
