We Have Always Been Threatened, They Said, 'If You Distance Yourselves, We Will Strike You': Alen Simonyan
Our colleagues do not even understand what they are talking about when they refer to a puppet state. This was stated by the President of the National Assembly, Alen Simonyan, during the announcements at the Assembly.
According to Simonyan, Armenia is acting independently for the first time. “We are building a statehood that you were unable to build. I do not blame the opposition because we did not understand what statehood is, and even now we must consider whether we are a proxy of Russia or if we will become a proxy of another foreign state that will protect us better. Who are we? We have always been threatened, told, ‘if you distance yourselves, we will strike you,’ and that you must be our hammer in this region,” he said.
The President of the Assembly also questioned the opposition about their agenda for returning from the streets to the Assembly. “You came back from the streets and still did not say what your agenda is,” he noted.
