It's Time to Remove the 'Civil Contract' from Yerevan Municipality: Vardan Ghukasyan
"It's time to remove the 'Civil Contract' from the Yerevan Municipality," stated Vardan Ghukasyan, the former honorary president of the 'Public Voice' party.
"Starting tomorrow, we are boycotting all sessions of the council. Yerevan needs to go to new elections," Ghukasyan asserted.
The opposition 'Public Voice' holds 7 mandates in the Yerevan Council.
It should be noted that tomorrow, the Yerevan Council will discuss in an extraordinary session the issue of stripping the mandate from former mayor Hayk Marutyan, as well as from National Progress faction member Narine Hayrapetyan, Mother Armenia faction members Zaruhy Postanjyan, Sona Aghekyan, and Gevorg Stepanyan.
Furthermore, the justifications for the project authored by the 'Civil Contract' and 'Republic' factions mention that the council members have not participated in more than half of the voting sessions.
