Annual Cancer Incidence in Armenia Revealed
The slogan for this year's World Cancer Day is "Close the care gap." This has been reported by the Ministry of Health of the Republic of Armenia.
According to WHO data, around 19.3 million new cancer cases are registered worldwide each year, with approximately 10 million fatalities. In Armenia, the average annual new cancer cases amount to 8,143.
Statistical data shows that the most common cancers among men include those of the trachea, bronchi, lungs, liver, bladder, and prostate, while in women, the most prevalent are breast, uterus, and cervical cancers. In recent years, there has been a trend of increasing cases of stomach and colorectal cancers in both men and women.
