Kyiv Asks Russia to Hand Over Bodies of POWs Killed in IL-76 Crash: Yusov
Kyiv has appealed to Russia, requesting the transfer of the bodies of prisoners of war who were killed in the crash of a Russian IL-76 in the Belgorod region. This was announced by Andrey Yusov, a representative of Ukraine's Ministry of Defense Intelligence.
He asserts that Russia has not yet responded to this request.
It is noteworthy that the Ukrainian armed forces shot down the Russian IL-76 military transport aircraft in the sky over Belgorod on January 24, which was carrying 65 Ukrainian prisoners of war for an exchange. All of them, along with three accompanying Russian military officers and six crew members, were killed in the incident.
Additionally, yesterday, the Russian Investigative Committee released a video, stating that the IL-76 was shot down by an American Patriot system near Belgorod.
