Israel Will Not Cease Strikes Against Hezbollah, Even If a New Ceasefire Agreement Is Reached in Gaza - Gallant
Israel will not cease its strikes against the Shiite group Hezbollah in Lebanon, even if a new ceasefire agreement is reached in the Gaza Strip. This was stated by the Minister of Defense of the Jewish state, Yoav Gallant, as reported by TASS.
“If Hezbollah thinks that when there is a ceasefire down south, it will stop the fire (on the Lebanese-Israeli border), and we will stop, it is making a big mistake,” the minister said. His words were quoted by The Times of Israel.
Gallant noted that Israeli military forces will not halt their actions until security is restored along the northern border. “I will say this directly: as long as we have not reached a situation where it is possible to restore security for the residents of the north, we will not stop. When that is achieved either through an agreement or military means, we can rest,” he added.
