Why do we say Armenian Army and not the Armed Forces of the Republic of Armenia? This question was raised by Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan in an interview with Public Radio.

According to Pashinyan, this issue is perceived differently from the outside. “The other day, I noticed our army’s emblem related to Army Day, and then I remembered that we all do not say the Armed Forces of the Republic of Armenia; we say Armenian Army. We do not notice it; it is such a familiar thing for us. But let’s look at it from the outside: why does this Republic of Armenia not call its army the Armed Forces of the Republic of Armenia, but the Armenian Army – the army of Armenians? Well, what is the army for the Armenians in the United States?” he remarked.
