A 36-Year-Old Man Drowns in Lake Sevan
Today, January 23, a tragic event occurred in the Gegharkunik region. Around 11:00 AM, the National Center for Crisis Management of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Republic of Armenia received an alarming call from the village mayor of Dzovakar, who reported that a citizen had drowned in Lake Sevan near the settlement. Rescue services were needed to retrieve the body.
According to photojournalist Gegik Shamshyan, search efforts involved rescuers, water patrols, and local citizens. After several hours of searching, residents were able to recover the body approximately 300-400 meters from the shore and about 5 meters deep.
