Russia Becomes Largest Oil Supplier to China
Russia has become the largest supplier of crude oil to China in 2023. According to Bloomberg, this milestone sees Russia surpass the previous leader, Saudi Arabia.
According to customs statistics published on January 22, the world's largest oil importer bought a record 107 million tons of crude oil from Russia in 2023, which is nearly a quarter more than the previous year. This figure exceeds the volume of supplies from Saudi Arabia, which amounted to nearly 86 million tons.
For the first time since 2018, Russia has occupied the top position among suppliers to China, with Moscow providing approximately 2.15 million barrels daily.
