Photographs: Citizen Subjected to Brutal Beating by Bavra Customs Employees, Human Rights Defender
A citizen of Armenia has been subjected to a brutal beating. A short while ago, citizen L. Gasparyan reached out to me, stating that hours earlier, while crossing the Armenian-Georgian border at the Bavra checkpoint, he was brutally beaten by customs employees.
This was reported by human rights defender Karapet Poghosyan on his Facebook page, accompanied by photographs. According to him, the family had a few kilograms of food in their vehicle, which led to an argument. During the incident, customs employees allegedly assaulted L.G. along with approximately 25 other individuals (excluding the shift supervisor). They first struck his 65-year-old father, then his brother, and finally him.
There were also minor children in the vehicle, and L.G. has a third-degree disability. I am currently working to provide legal assistance to the family.
