Ukrainian Armed Forces Destroy A-50 and Il-22 Aircraft: Zaluzhnyi
The Commander-in-Chief of the Ukrainian Armed Forces, Valerii Zaluzhnyi, announced that the air force has destroyed an A-50 long-range radar detection aircraft and the enemy's Il-22 airborne command center.
Russia has not yet commented on reports that emerged in Ukrainian media the night before.
“I would like to thank the air force for the perfectly planned and executed operation in the Azov region,” Zaluzhnyi said in a message on his Telegram channel.
Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov stated on Monday morning that he had no information regarding the lost military aircraft and suggested that inquiries should be directed to the Ministry of Defense.
It should be noted that the previous night, RBC-Ukraine and Hromadske publications, citing their sources, claimed that an A-50 radar detection aircraft had allegedly been shot down in the Sea of Azov, along with an Il-22 aircraft.
