Regulatory Measures to be Applied to Paid Advertisers on TikTok and Instagram, Says SRS
Regulatory measures may be applied to bloggers advertising for payment on TikTok, Instagram, and other social networks if they are outside the tax system. This was announced during a press briefing by the head of the Armenian State Revenue Committee, Rustam Badasyan.
“Advertisers on social platforms cannot be exempt; any income is subject to taxation. Last year, we had numerous cases from electronic platforms where advertisements were posted on their pages without taxation, as well as instances where online goods were sold, but these activities were outside the tax system. We also have revelations in this area,” said Badasyan.
He emphasized that checks are being conducted, and if individuals are not registered as businesses or as individuals declaring their income, regulatory measures will certainly be applied.
Regarding the tax payments of representatives from the show business, the head of the SRS stressed that they have started to declare and pay their taxes more diligently. Nevertheless, there are still cases where money remains in the shadows, but the SRS is addressing this issue.
