Victim Reported in Gas Tanker Accident in Lori Province

On December 21, at 07:36, the crisis management center of the Lori Regional Rescue Department received a report about an accident near the village of Haghpat, where a gasoline tanker overturned, resulting in injuries. The road was closed in both directions. This was announced by the Ministry of Internal Affairs and the Emergency Situations Service, which also reported that the highway is now open for traffic in both directions.

It was noted that a firefighting and rescue crew from the regional rescue department of the Ministry of Internal Affairs was dispatched to the scene. It was determined that at the 4th kilometer of the Alaverdi-Bagratashen highway, a gas tanker (make: MAN, driver: A.K., born in 1963) had overturned and completely blocked the road. The driver was killed in the incident.

Rescue teams managed to secure the area, and together with the Highway Department of Alaverdi, removed the vehicle from the roadway, allowing for traffic to resume in both directions.
