Israel Ready for New Ceasefire and Prisoner Release, Says Ambassador in the US

Michael Herzog, Israel's ambassador to the United States, has stated that Israel is prepared to halt military operations in Gaza in exchange for the release of as many hostages as possible, according to CNN.

On Tuesday, the ambassador's brother, Israeli President Isaac Herzog, communicated a similar message to ambassadors accredited in Israel. "I can confirm that Israel is ready for another humanitarian ceasefire and additional humanitarian aid to secure the release of hostages. We must be prepared. The responsibility rests entirely with the leadership of Hamas," he said.
