Situation Regarding Charges for Armenian Airlines at Russian Airports to Improve: Overchuk
The situation regarding charges for Armenian airlines at Russian airports is set to improve. This was stated by Russian Deputy Prime Minister Alexey Overchuk during a press briefing following the meeting of the intergovernmental commission on economic cooperation between Russia and Armenia.
“An important agreement has been reached at the intergovernmental commission meeting to harmonize airport and air navigation tariffs and fees. It is evident that this will create better conditions for Armenian airlines operating flights to Russia,” Overchuk noted.
This, in turn, will further enhance the opportunities for tourism development between the two countries. According to Overchuk, there is a significant interest among people in Russia toward Armenian culture and history.
“There is a very large flow of tourists to Armenia; about 850,000 people have visited Armenia from Russia this year, and around 260,000 tourists have traveled from Armenia to Russia,” said the Russian Deputy Prime Minister.
He emphasized that these are good indicators that should be maintained.
