The Place Is Ready: Pope Francis Meets with Organizers of His Funeral

Pope Francis has expressed his wish to be buried in the Basilica of Santa Maria Maggiore, one of the four major basilicas in Rome, after his death. He revealed this in an interview with the Mexican N+ television channel.

“The place is ready; I want to be buried in Santa Maria Maggiore. Yes, because I am very dedicated to this place; I have always gone there. There is a very strong bond,” the Pope stated. He also added, “I have already met with the organizers of the funeral.”
