Israel Receives Bunker-Busting Bombs and Tens of Thousands of Shells, WSJ
The United States has supplied Israel with large quantities of powerful bunker-busting bombs, tens of thousands of artillery shells, and other types of armaments since October 7. This information comes from The Wall Street Journal, citing its sources.
According to them, approximately 15,000 bombs are included, consisting of 100 bunker-buster BLU-109 bombs. The number of 155 mm guided artillery shells may reach 57,000.
Furthermore, among the munitions that the U.S. has sent to Israel are more than 5,000 unguided MK82 bombs, over 5,400 Mk84 bombs, about 1,000 small diameter GBU-39 guided bombs, and nearly 3,000 JDAM high-precision guidance kit bombs.
The supply of these armaments began on October 7, immediately after an attack on Israel by the Palestinian Hamas group, the newspaper adds. According to anonymous American officials, Israel used U.S.-supplied bombs while striking the Jabalia refugee camp in northern Gaza, resulting in over 100 fatalities.
Previously, American journalist and Pulitzer Prize winner Seymour Hersh reported, referencing his sources, that Israeli forces plan to level the city of Gaza and the areas to its north using air force involvement and American-guided bombs during the operation.
