North Korea to Resume All Military Actions Halted Under Agreement with South Korea
The Ministry of Defense of the Democratic People's Republic of Korea (DPRK) has refused to ratify the agreement aimed at reducing military tensions with South Korea. The ministry plans to deploy troops and weapons in border areas.
“We will abandon the measures taken to reduce military tensions on land, at sea, and in the air. We will deploy powerful forces and modern weaponry in border areas,” the ministry stated in its announcement.
Authorities in South Korea have accused the DPRK of violating the terms of the agreement intended to lower military tensions. In particular, it was noted that the policy of developing nuclear forces is enshrined in DPRK legislation.
