Vladimir Putin on Leaving UNESCO and the UN
Russian President Vladimir Putin sees no necessity to withdraw from UNESCO and the UN. “The Russian Federation has good connections and projects, and is one of the founding members of these organizations,” Putin stated, as reported by RIA Novosti.
“We have quite serious plans, and I do not see any need to withdraw. Some say that we should leave the UN. That is absurd, since Russia is a founding member of those organizations,” said the Russian president during a cultural forum.
