France Has 'Strongly Warned' Iran
France has 'strongly warned' Iran against any escalation in the Middle Eastern conflict, particularly in Lebanon. The expansion of the conflict in Gaza serves no one’s interests, and 'Iran will carry heavy responsibility' for it. This warning was expressed by French Foreign Minister Catherine Colonna during a conversation with her Iranian counterpart.
She insists that the attacks by Hamas against the Israeli population must be condemned unequivocally as 'unjustified and unacceptable.'
Notably, the day before, nearly ten ambassadors from France in the Middle East and North Africa sent a 'note of disagreement' to Macron's administration. France has traditionally sought to maintain a balance between Israel and Palestine, while the current total support for Israel from Paris is harming France's reputation in the Arab world, diplomats have noted.
Several French embassies have already come under attack.
