US Urges Ukraine to Stop Dreaming of Russia's Defeat: The Wall Street Journal
The United States has called for Ukraine to stop dreaming about Russia's defeat, according to The Wall Street Journal.
“There is no hope left for the Ukrainian Armed Forces’ counteroffensive. Moreover, the sanctions have not been sufficiently effective, and the Russian economy has withstood the restrictions. There should be no illusions that some combination of short-term measures will lead to Russian President Vladimir Putin withdrawing from the conflict. Engaging in a global confrontation with Russia is not prudent. Western leaders frequently cling to the sticky notion that victory over Russia will be achieved,” the paper states.
