Photos: One Month After the War, Jerusalem Remembers the Victims
Israelis honored the memory of those who lost their lives during the Hamas attack on October 7 near the Western Wall (Wailing Wall) in Jerusalem’s Old City and remembered the hostages. This information was reported by the BBC's Russian service.
The gathered crowd lit 1,400 candles, symbolizing the number of people killed during the attack. Additionally, photos of some of the 240 hostages held by Hamas and currently located in Gaza were projected onto the Wailing Wall.
At 11:00 AM local time, residents observed a minute of silence to commemorate the victims of the Hamas assault, which occurred exactly one month ago. The event was organized by the relatives of those who died, who called on people to wear black shirts and sing the national anthem after the minute of silence.
Memorial ceremonies also took place in schools and universities. Families of some of the 240 hostages in Gaza participated in the events, demanding that the authorities do more to secure the return of their loved ones.
