Former MP's Sons Approach Law Enforcement: $3 Million 'Fight' Against Uncle

According to the newspaper 'Zhoghovurd', it has been reported that the vehicle repairs for the National Assembly are carried out by 'Garantservis' LLC, which is also a supplier for the police and the Ministry of Defense. This company, along with several others, was once jointly owned by the Hakobyan brothers. Following the death of former MP Versandik Hakobyan, ownership has passed to his brother, Hrayr Hakobyan.

The judicial information portal has revealed that Armen Hakobyan has submitted a request to the bankruptcy court of Armenia to declare 'Garantservis' LLC bankrupt in order to recover his deceased father Versandik Hakobyan's investments. The court has accepted the application regarding the bankruptcy claim of 'Garantservis' LLC for processing.

In an effort to understand the details of the case, 'Zhoghovurd' contacted Armen Hakobyan, who stated that Hrayr Hakobyan is evading the payment of debts owed to his brother's heirs by not providing the necessary documents and reports. This has led Armen and his brother to see no other option but to resort to the court.

Armen Hakobyan also added that 'Spitak Delfin', 'Bestur', 'Fras Park', 'Champagne Wineries', 'Garantservis', along with companies in the Republic of France, and the Russian Federation owe Versandik Hakobyan approximately $3 million in borrowed funds.

Armen is concerned that Hrayr Hakobyan is intending to appropriate or create false signs of bankruptcy in these companies to evade debt repayment. This concern is based on the facts that Armen, being a shareholder in several of these companies, has repeatedly sought information about the companies' operations from Hrayr’s managed organizations, for which he has either been denied or received no response.

Armen also noted that, apart from this case, many other criminal cases have been initiated whose investigations have been inexplicably prolonged, likely linked to Hrayr Hakobyan's involvement with the lawyer connected to the case, former head of the National Security Service's investigative department, Mnatsakan Maroukian.

Armen expressed personal sorrow over the fact that his maternal uncle has made such unilateral decisions and has taken it upon himself to deny the funds due to the children of the deceased brother. He added that it has become a common occurrence in reality where people's greed is prioritized over human values.
