Israel Announces Evacuation of Residents in Border Communities with Lebanon
The Israel Defense Forces have announced plans to evacuate residents from communities located in northern Israel, near the border with Lebanon. This was reported by the BBC.
Residents from 28 communities within a 2-kilometer radius of the border will be relocated to "state-funded hotels." The BBC reminds that on October 15, an Israeli was killed as a result of shelling from the Shiite organization Hezbollah in one of the border villages.
Israel has carried out strikes on Lebanon overnight, targeting military infrastructure belonging to Hezbollah. On October 7, more than 1,500 fighters from Hamas breached the security barrier and infiltrated Israel from the Gaza Strip. Israel has declared war on Hamas and is striking hundreds of targets.
Israel has also initiated a full blockade of Gaza, halting the entry of water, electricity, fuel, food, and other goods. The number of fatalities in Israel has exceeded 1,400, with 150 people taken hostage by Hamas. The death toll in the Gaza Strip has reached 2,700.
