Azerbaijan Interested in Russian-Turkish Gas Hub Project, Putin Says
The gas hub project in Turkey aims to establish an electronic trading platform for gas exports to Europe in its first phase. Everyone in Europe interested in acquiring Russian resources is keen on this project. This was stated by Russian President Vladimir Putin at the plenary session of the Russian Energy Week, according to TASS.
“We have two routes: the ‘Turkish Stream’ and ‘Blue Stream,’ which are operating efficiently and are fully utilized. Essentially, we have ideas for expanding these opportunities. However, I reiterate that the first phase is the creation of the electronic trading platform,” he said.
Putin further noted that the Russian Federation does not foresee major problems regarding the establishment of the platform, as both Turkey and Russia are interested in this project. Moreover, Azerbaijan has also expressed interest in the gas hub.
“Turkey is interested, we are too, we have talked with Azerbaijan, and they are interested as well. Subsequently, as work progresses, we hope that other interested countries will also be involved,” concluded the Russian President.
