David Manukyan Personally Drove the Vehicle Transporting Ruben Vardanyan and Became a Captive
According to "Hraparak," among those taken to Azerbaijani prisons from Artsakh are not only the former presidents of Artsakh but also the former state minister, former foreign minister, the former commander of the Defense Army, and his deputy. It appears that Major General David Manukyan, the former first deputy commander of the Defense Army of Nagorno-Karabakh, who was captured by Azerbaijan while crossing the Hakari Bridge together with Ruben Vardanyan, decided himself to accompany the former state minister, considering that the risks of Vardanyan's arrest would be higher if he crossed the bridge alone.
Manukyan personally drove the vehicle transporting Ruben Vardanyan, thereby endangering his own life and finding himself in a captive status. Incidentally, Manukyan's wife was also taken with her husband and held for several hours before being allowed to cross the border alone and return to Armenia.
It should be noted that, on his way from Artsakh to Armenia, the state minister of Artsakh, Ruben Vardanyan, has been arrested by Azerbaijan and is currently being held in custody for four months. The Azerbaijani side has also arrested and subsequently captured Major General David Manukyan, the former head of the Defense Army Headquarters and transported him to Baku.
