Lavrov: We Hope the Armenian People Connect Their History with Russia

Russia hopes that the Armenian people connect their history with Russia, rather than with those "from across the ocean." This statement was made by the head of the Russian Foreign Ministry, Sergey Lavrov, during a press conference following his speech at the UN General Assembly.

“We are deeply convinced that the Armenian people remember our common history and link their story with Russia and other friendly countries, primarily those in this region, rather than those from across the ocean,” he stated.

Lavrov also mentioned that the world stands at a crossroads, and it is crucial to prevent the onset of a major war. “The development of history depends on us. It is in our common interest to prevent a great war and not to definitively collapse the mechanisms of international cooperation established by previous generations,” added Lavrov.
