“The security and rights of the people of that region must be determined by a clear mechanism. This is our official position. Iran has always emphasized the need to respect the territorial integrity of countries and has consistently opposed any change to internationally recognized borders,” he said.

Kanaani noted that recognizing each other's territorial integrity by Armenia and Azerbaijan would be an important step towards achieving stable peace and security.

“We do not support any actions that could overshadow these principles,” emphasized the Iranian official.
