Dismissals Expected in Ararat Military Unit Following Two Soldier Cases
On August 10, Zarouh Karapetyan took his own life at a position in the Ararat military unit, followed by Granik Khinkoyan's suicide on August 11. Both individuals were conscripts in the same unit. According to preliminary assumptions, the incidents involving the two soldiers are not related.
Dismissals are anticipated within the Ararat unit, attributed to the aforementioned tragic events. Armlur.am has obtained details regarding occurrences within the military base prior to Granik Khinkoyan's suicide on August 11, stating that they are aware of the full details of the incident but are refraining from publishing them for the sake of the ongoing investigation.
According to the newspaper 'Zhoghovurd', the commander of the military unit and the corps commander have been negligent and either have no grasp of the situation within the unit or have not taken appropriate actions despite being aware.
It is important to recall that on August 11, Granik Vardani Khinkoyan, a soldier from the Ministry of Defense's N military unit, sustained a fatal gunshot wound under yet undetermined circumstances. An investigation is underway to fully clarify the circumstances of the incident.
Additionally, on August 10, another soldier, Zarouh Karapetyan, also lost his life, resulting in two arrests. It was reported that fellow soldiers had driven him to the point of taking his own life due to sleeping at his post.
