Criminal Proceedings Initiated Following Tragic Accident on Gyumri-Lanjik Highway
Criminal proceedings have been initiated at the Shirak Regional Investigation Department of the Republic of Armenia's Investigative Committee regarding the tragic car accident that occurred on the Gyumri-Lanjik highway, based on the characteristics outlined in Article 342, Part 3 of the Armenian Criminal Code. This was reported by Gor Abrahamyan, the press secretary of the Investigative Committee, on his Facebook page.
As a result of the accident, 10 passengers and the driver of the passenger vehicle died at the scene. Five passengers, as well as the driver of the 'ZIL' vehicle, were taken to Gyumri Medical Center with various bodily injuries. According to data provided by the medical center, the condition of the injured individuals is serious or extremely serious.
Forensic and medical examinations of the bodies have been ordered. Urgent measures are being taken to identify all the passengers, clarify the causes of the accident, and provide a legal assessment of the actions of the drivers.
At this time, it has not yet been possible to conduct the necessary investigative actions with the individuals transported to the healthcare facility due to their health conditions. The Investigative Committee will soon publish more comprehensive information about the incident within the limits of admissibility.
