In Russia, Avoiding Mobilization Service Threatens Either Fine or Imprisonment
There are no plans for a new wave of mobilization in Russia. This was stated by Andrei Kartapolov, the chairman of the State Duma's Defense Committee, commenting on the bill that criminalizes avoidance of mobilization.
"This absolutely has nothing to do with each other. The fact is that we prepared this bill last autumn when partial mobilization was still underway. But for a long time, there was an agreement in place, and just a few days ago, the government commission approved it," Kartapolov explained.
