Syrian Citizen Arrested for Crossing Armenian-Turkish Border
A Syrian citizen has illegally crossed the Armenian-Turkish border. The information has been confirmed by the National Security Service of Armenia in response to a query from Sputnik Armenia.
“On July 20, a citizen of the Syrian Arab Republic illegally crossed the state border of Armenia and Turkey at the border guard post ‘Margarah’ of the Federal Security Service of Russia in Armenia,” the NSS reported.
Following the incident, the Investigative Committee of Armenia has initiated criminal proceedings under the first part of Article 469 of the Armenian Criminal Code.
According to reports, the border violator was arrested during an attempt to cross from Turkey into Armenia.
