Yerevan Municipality Rejects Advertisements Promoting Resistance

The Yerevan Municipality has rejected the placement of advertisements by the "Democratic Alliance" party that contain messages about not surrendering, refusing to accept the current situation, and fighting back. This information was communicated by the party itself.

The municipality justified its decision by stating that the advertisements do not comply with the definition of advertising under the RA Law on Advertising. However, there are many similar advertisements currently present in Yerevan.

At the same time, Article 2 of the RA Law on Advertising clearly defines advertising as the dissemination of information about legal or physical persons, goods, ideas, or initiatives using various types of media to an indefinite number of persons, intended to generate or maintain interest in the respective physical or legal persons, goods, or initiatives.

It is evident that the Yerevan Municipality is unjustifiably obstructing the dissemination of messages such as "Do not surrender," "Do not accept," and "Fight," which aim to empower society, based on profound humiliation, subordination, and replacing the agenda of dignity and struggle.
