Iran Provides Clarifications to IAEA

Iran has provided clarifications to the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) regarding two sites where inspectors discovered traces of uranium. This was reported by Interfax.

The head of the Atomic Energy Organization of Iran, Mohammad Eslami, stated that Tehran has submitted explanations and documents to the IAEA concerning two remaining facilities that the agency had suspicions about related to Iran’s undeclared nuclear activities.

“We have presented detailed responses, facts, and documents regarding the remaining two locations to the IAEA. If these are not accepted, we will continue to clarify and provide additional evidence and documentation,” Eslami told reporters on Wednesday, as quoted by Iranian media.

Earlier, IAEA Director General Rafael Grossi stated that his agency had not received any clarifications from Tehran regarding the traces of uranium found at three locations, which cannot be considered nuclear sites.

Informed sources in Tehran later reported that, following several technical negotiations, the international agency had reduced the number of sites under suspicion to two.
