Van's Armenian Churches on the Brink of Collapse

A number of Armenian churches in the city of Van, located in western Turkey and founded in the 9th century BC by King Sarduri I of Van, are in a state of abandonment and disrepair, deteriorating day by day. This was reported by Ermenihaber.

Two of the semi-ruined Armenian churches in Van, St. Bartholomew and St. Thomas, are in need of restoration. It has been noted that despite numerous appeals, the Turkish authorities have not taken any steps towards the restoration of these two Armenian churches that are on the verge of collapsing.
