We Are Always Next to Armenia: France's National Assembly President to Alen Simonian

The Head of the National Assembly of Armenia, Alen Simonian, met with the President of the National Assembly of the French Republic, Yael Braun-Pivet, on July 12.

During the meeting, Alen Simonian expressed that he has warm memories of the historic visit made by Braun-Pivet's delegation to Armenia at the beginning of this year. In response, Yael Braun-Pivet noted that she was impressed by Armenia and recalls that enriched visit with great emotion.

The colleagues recognized that this meeting is a continuation of sincere friendship and a consistent partner political policy. They expressed satisfaction with the high level of Armenian-French inter-parliamentary cooperation, which also pertains to the inter-parliamentary friendship groups.

Alen Simonian emphasized the importance of the fact that all meetings with French partners occur in an atmosphere of sound knowledge of Armenia. He pointed out that Armenia highly appreciates the continuous mediation efforts of French President Emmanuel Macron, as well as the consistent support from parliamentarians and maintaining a permanent connection with Armenia.

During the meeting, ideas were exchanged regarding the immediate return of Armenian captives held in Azerbaijan, support for the EU observational mission in Armenia, and the establishment of rights and security guarantees for Armenians in Nagorno-Karabakh.

The President of the French National Assembly mentioned that they are always alongside Armenia and will continue to invest all efforts.
