Construction of Bayraktar Drone Production Facility Begins in Ukraine
Construction of a facility for the production of Bayraktar drones by the Turkish aerospace company Baykar has begun in Ukraine. This was announced by Ukraine's Minister of Strategic Industries, Oleksandr Kamyshin.
“If we talk about the Bayraktar factory, which has been discussed in Ukraine for several years, the construction work has now commenced. There were negotiations around this project, followed by some delays and scandals. Now, this factory has officially started to be built, not just on paper,” Oleksandr Kamyshin said during a broadcast on the Rada TV channel.
On July 8, Turkey and Ukraine signed a memorandum on the development of joint production of drones. Haluk Bayraktar, the CEO of Baykar, has stated that the company expects to start production of the Bayraktar TB2 and Bayraktar Akinci drones in Ukraine by 2025.
