BBC Presenter Suspended Over Intimate Contact With Minor
The BBC has temporarily suspended one of its prominent presenters following revelations of his long-term intimate correspondence with a minor. This was reported by the media.
Earlier, The Sun newspaper reported that the mother of the teenager had approached their editorial office. According to the information, the minor received money in exchange for explicit photographs.
The mother stated that her child has become a drug addict. The communication reportedly began in 2020 when the teenager was 17 years old.
The BBC confirmed that it has contacted the police after claims that one of its presenters paid the teenager £35,000 for sexual images.
“Once he sent a round sum of £5,000. The money was for sexual photographs of my child,” the mother said.
On Sunday evening (London time), according to The Sun’s new report, the presenter stated that he received two “panic calls” after the media’s publication. The presenter questioned the young individual, asking, “What have you done?” and urged him to have his mother call the media outlet to “stop the investigation.”
Several BBC stars, including Jeremy Vine, Nicky Campbell, Gary Lineker, and Rylan Clark, publicly affirmed that they were not involved in any communication with the minor.
